Nowhere Islands are being invaded by the Pig Mask Army. Using high technology the army performs experiments on plants and animals. This is where a story about Flint, his wife, Hinawa, their sons, Claus and Lucas, and their fiends starts. Mother 3 is an RPG set in modern times that introduces a battle system with no random encounters and based on rhythm during battles. Any enemies that the player encounters can be avoided by dodging them in the game world.
